Recent changes and upgrades are going quite well and they now have WiFi for the rooms. Due to personal issues I've had no other choice but to live in this hotel for six to seven years now. When I first moved in it was shabby, rundown, and the room we were put in had bloodstains on the ceiling. This explained the front desk clerks' disheveled reaction when he told me that he only had room 341 available. I didn't think much of it in the moment but quickly understood after entering the room. Over my extended period of time living at the Budget Lodge, I have dealt with disturbing neighbors, bed bugs, fleas, roaches, and seen many building managers come and go. I understand that this review hasn't come off as a 4 star review thus far but I only said those things so that I could make clear the level of great changes being made to building recently. The rooms are not only being cleaned and upgraded but other long term tenants, such as myself, are being made to keep their rooms reasonably clean and trash free in order to keep the critters out. A fire did occur recently and repairs have not begun yet but this was not due to anything lacking in the staff or building management so I'll ask that you not hold the burned up room against them; accidents happen after all. The new building manager is a very lovely person who's been doing her absolute best at getting this old run down building back into shape and thus far has done an exceptional job. Changes in the staff has also made a significant difference. For the most part, my recent experience with the newer staff is pleasant. They are generally nice, polite, courteous, and understanding. I want to give all the kudos to the nice building manager and hope to see these new changes continue to go forward.
The rooms are good for the price, they're doing a beautiful remodel to a lot of the rooms. Never have any issues with the employees, they're always very kind and so helpful. They're next to highway that's got construction going on right now so it's fairly loud during the day but at night almost always quiet. There is a restaurant there as well that has some of the best food, sweetest servers and excellent prices too! I love it there
